Playgrounds
Our Full-time Parks & Recreation Director and seasonal maintenance crew oversee and maintain six neighborhood playgrounds. The playgrounds have been modernized in recent years, largely through community-based volunteer efforts. As a part of that modernization, each playground was given its own unique equipment to create differentiation in the users experience at each playground. All six playgrounds have a small, shaded picnic shelter for public use. In addition, five of the six playgrounds have a basketball court. Click the name of each playground for Google Map directions.
Upper Websterville Playground (Brook Street)

The Upper Websterville Playground is located on Brook Street. Next to the Post Office, turn off of Church Hill Road into Brook Street. The playground is a very short distance up Brook Street. It was last renovated in 2015.
East Barre Park and Playground (Carnes Rd)
8 Carnes Rd, East Barre, VT
The East Barre Park and Playground is sandwiched between Carnes Road, Bianchi Street, and Pleasant Street. The park features a playground and two youth soccer fields. In addition, there is a basketball court and Community Garden / Pollinator Plot on the other side of the Pleasant street loop between that and Prospect Street. To volunteer at the Community Garden / Pollinator Plot send an email to JCrossley@barretown.org. There are two parking spaces on Carnes Road. More parking is available at the end of Pleasant Street .
Upper Graniteville Playground (Park Street)
10 Park Street, Graniteville, VT
The Upper Graniteville Playground is located on Park Street, which intersects with Graniteville Road between Cogswell Street and Donahue Road. Park street is a very short street that loops back on itself. Park along this loop and be mindful of spacing for other cars and neighbors. The site formerly hosted an old one room schoolhouse. At the back of the park the Barre Town Forest abuts the property.
Lower Graniteville Playground (Baptist Street) 
3 Baptist Street, Graniteville, VT
The Lower Graniteville Playground is located at the corner of Graniteville Road and Baptist Street in the Lower Graniteville Village. The playground is located next to the Post Office.
South Barre Park (Wilson Street)
26 Wilson Street, South Barre VT
The South Barre Park is located behind Hannaford's Market. Wilson Street provides access to the playground.
Trow Hill Playground (Hill Street)
291 Hill Street, Barre Town, VT
The Trow Hill Playground is located on Hill Street between West Cobble Hill Road and Balsam Drive, one hundred yards above the Trow Hill Grocery. It was last renovated in 2016.
The town offers picnic (roadside rest) areas on Quarry Hill Road and on Graniteville Road (in Lower Graniteville). The public may also use the basketball and volleyball courts located at the EMS Station, at the intersection of U.S. Route 302 and McLaughlin Road.
